Eros + Melody #40: Funk Library

The Funk Library Album

I initially did a big write-up on this volume, then I realized two things: one, I am not as smart as I pretend to be, and two, peeps aren't here to read my garbage...they're hear for the music.

So, what we have here is not Library music, but soul and funk tracks imagined and arranged as such--some looped instrumental bits, some extended edits...one long and hot funk jam. I'm not a big fan DJ edits myself, but I think I treated these songs with as much respect and least amount of artificial intervention as I could in order to turn this into an instrumental escapade.

    1. The multi-track for this one will be a little tricky since these are primarily loops, and the full tracks are copyrighted, bigger label-type songs...could compromise the blog if shared, even in their edited form. I'll try to think of a way around this.

    2. No worries... the single-track will suffice then. Thanks again!

    3. AS, I can provide on request. Send me an email at thenewbohemian. It is a hotmail address. And I'll provide the edits. Same goes for anyone else reading this...I can't send to anonymous commenters unfortunately. Gotta be careful about sharing certain things in the blogworld these days...don't wanna compromise this thing I got going here...

    4. BTW, AS, I saw you film blog. I am a passionate cinephile as well...currently taking History of Film courses out here...privately I'm working thru Czech and Japanese New Waves for the second time...as a refresher and to expand my knowledge of the genres...cool, cool...

    5. Thanks, HPD! Will send email shortly. My study of the "History Of Film" is always ongoing... every year I discover a few more films I wasn't aware of. Haven't seen many Czech films... but, like you, I, too am a "student" of Japanese films. Mostly of the samurai and yakuza genres.

    1. Thanks, Easywind, I am very interested in your views on this particular volume since it is a bit different from the others, and also my involvement is more hands on with the editing and looping. Looking forward to your evaluation...

  4. Good morning! As someone who's happily d-l'd the previous 39 volumes of this set, would I be out of line in asking if I could contact you at the hotmail account mentioned above for a multi-track copy of the EPM 40 file? My apologies if I'm being forward, just very eager to have a m-t version to go with the others.

Also, I had previously posted a request for a re-up, if possible, of the 2 files found in the post from November 2011 named "Ennio Morricone - Morricone Happening: Acid Sides of the Maestro (196x-'7x)"; the 2 links shown are Rapidshare, which had evaporated.

I look forward to hearing from you at your 1st convenience. Chris B.

  5. Hi, Chris. Sure. I just wanted to make sure I recognized the names of people before I shared this particular volume, and I do recognize yours, so no problem. I can help you with the other two albums, too, but I'll do so by email because I am no longer sharing albums on this site )other than my mixes of course). It may take me a little longer to send you the EPM40 multitrack because I haven't prepared it yet...anyway, send me an email so I can send these items when they're ready.

    1. Hi Anonymous. For this mix, no, I cannot publish the track list here for fear that not only this, but the blog can be compromised. As noted above, I will share the track list with blog followers and/or usernames that I recognize from previous comments. Most future posts I should be able to upload the multitrack cuz those are generally beyond the sphere of assholes who like to report blogs like mine for infringement. Can't be too careful these days.

    1. iVibe, Thanks for the kudos. I am not a professional. In fact my mixing skills are very amateur. I might have a bit of an ear for music, that's all. No company, no studio. These mixes are all done on freeware on my iMac :)
